TERMS OF REFERENCE

To consider major policy and strategic issues, including:

the government’s budget and other priorities, including expenditure review issues which have significant policy implications
Treaty of Waitangi issues
arts, broadcasting, culture, and heritage issues, including Maori language, culture and broadcasting issues
environment and conservation issues, including climate change
other specific policy issues referred from time to time by the Prime Minister, Cabinet or other committees.

Implementation aspects of these issues may be considered by the appropriate sector committee, once major policy directions have been set.
