This directory provides information on Ministerial portfolios and responsibilities
in New Zealand as at 31 January 2008 (excluding Deputy and Associate Minister positions).
Its purpose is to provide a record of the departments and other agencies,
votes and legislation associated with each Ministerial position. Information

Information on the current Ministers of the Crown and the portfolios and
other responsibilities they hold can be found in the Ministerial
List issued separately by the Cabinet Office.
The directory provides information on Ministers of the Crown. The Speaker
of the House of Representatives is responsible for the Parliamentary Service,
the Office of the Clerk of the House of Representatives, and the Offices of
Parliament - the Office of the Controller and Auditor-General, the Office
of the Ombudsmen, and the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment.
This Directory is updated from time to time to reflect changes in portfolio responsibilities and the public sector.
