Our statutory responsibilities focus on the constitutional, executive, and national security functions that support the Governor-General, the Prime Minister and Cabinet to lead and govern New Zealand.
Principal legislation
The key pieces of legislation that DPMC administers, in alphabetical order, are:
- Governor-General Act 2010
- Greater Christchurch Regeneration Act 2016
- Intelligence and Security Act 2017
- International Terrorism (Emergency Powers) Act 1987
- Official Appointments and Documents Act 1919
- Royal Titles Act 1974 (this Act is no longer operative and will be revoked)
- Seal of New Zealand Act 1977
