Background
The National Risk Profile - Pandemic (Communicable Diseases) was first produced by the Ministry of Health in 2016 and reviewed again in 2017.
National Risk Profiles are documents produced by government agencies to support awareness and decision making across government on nationally significant hazards and threats included on the National Risk Register. National Risk Profiles help government examine how effectively risks are being managed and what steps could be taken to better mitigate and improve resilience to them.
The two Officials Committee for Domestic and External Security Coordination (ODESC) Boards; the Hazard Risk Board and Security and Intelligence Board; use National Risk Profiles to strategically govern risks that could have a significant impact on New Zealand’s national security, prosperity and wellbeing.
