The Quarterly Reports were produced to support the Government Targets and contain information on progress toward those targets.

Results have improved since the last quarterly report.

Results have improved since the last quarterly report but remain slightly below baseline.

There has been a reduction of 95 children and young people with serious and persistent offending behavior since the last quarterly report.

The New Zealand Crime and Victims’ Survey (NZCVS) shows ~14,000 fewer adults experienced violent crime since the last quarterly report.

Prolonged economic conditions have continued to increase flows of people onto Jobseeker Support which has seen an increase of 8,000 since the last quarterly report.

There was a 6.1 percentage point increase from Term 2 2023 to Term 2 2024

There is no change in reported performance this quarter as the Target measure is released annually.

The Government has achieved a 62% reduction since the target was set. Over 80% of households can be now identified as going into some form of social, transitional or private housing.

The Government will finalise the second emissions reduction plan (ERP2) imminently. This is the Government’s plan for meeting Emissions Budget 2 (EB2) and hence the second half of the Target 9 period (2026-2030).
