An Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit (ONZM) is appointed for a distinguished regional or national role in any field. The insignia pictured is shown on the ribbon bow traditionally worn by women.
The ONZM badge is a smaller representation than the GNZM/KNZM/DNZM/CNZM badge, in silver-gilt, with the motto set in green enamel. It is worn from a ribbon on the left lapel of the coat or from a ribbon tied in a bow and worn on the left shoulder.
